* The European Union (EU) is a semi policy-making and economic community of 27 member states with supranational (nadnárodní) and intergovernmental (mezivládní) features that argon located mainly in Europe
* The origins of the EU are affiliated with the European Economic Community, which was formed in 1957 by the treaty of Rome betwixt six European countries. Since then, the EU has braggart(a) in size and has increased its powers.

EU citizens elect the Parliament every five years. The political centres are Brussels, Strasbourg and Luxembourg.
