I think that Priestly used Sheilas character to follow how people would and probably still do use their senior high school status to put people d accept and get their own way,

Sheilas language changes at different times in the play, for suit around the beginning she uses words like mummy when lecture to Sybil Birling- which shows Sheilas child like, intimate side. But then later on in the play she uses the word stick which sounds more formal, I believe this because Sheila has maybe lost some respect for her mother and feels she does not know her mother as well as she thought after hearing what she did to Eva Smith.

Sheilas own personal spatial relation was probably what a lot of young womens attitudes and behaviour was like. I believe Priestly intended her character to reflect on womens independence.

I believe that Priestley had an aim to make his audience take care more the vast gap between the rich and the poor.

And, apparently he wanted the play to give the richer capitalist naval division of the population an eye-opener into what could easily happen if personalities were not changed. J.B. Priestley does a big job in the way that he portrays social variation and his play will have almost certainly changed the nation of society.
