Analysis of Ulysses

The students depth psychology written about Ulysses by is well constructed and answers most key questions about the metrical composition. Although as I read and evaluated it myself I came across a few ideas I would add but nothing I would change. Literal analysis is supposed to evaluate the use of important literary concepts I think the student is focused too much on the overall musical theme of the poetry rather than how it was constructed. The student does beg off that this verse form is told as a soliloquy but that is all. I would have added more enlarge about the poem as a literal sense. For example, this poem is written as a dramatic monologue and is spoken by moreover unrivaled character. The student could have also included the ideology of the poem after mentioning it is a soliloquy. For example, Ulysses is the roman form of the Greek discourse Odysseus who is an ancient hero written by Homer and is also the hero in Dantes Inferno. In both literatures Ulysses is a sailor with a craving for adventure.



Tennyson takes the characters passed information and includes it in his poem by demonstrating his responsibilities as king and before going on another journey. The student represents the theme of the poem well with quotes from the poem with good detail and shows understanding of the message written by Tennyson. The student was focused too much on the detail of the poem an didnt include his reaction or assent to the poem.
