Greeces Failure

The ill of the Iranian invasion in the first Persian war 490BC was not due to one aspect hardly many. Some of these aspects were involving Battle tactics, location, motivations, weaponry and the makeup of their armies.
One of the reasons to the Persians failure is because of the Greeks battle tactics. The two fly were strong, but the line in the centralise was only a few ranks deep. Herodotus, Book Six. As the two armies came together the Persian centre pushed through the Greek centre yet the Greeks wings overpowered the Persians wings therefore boxing in the Persians as seen in stemma B.

Another reason for the Persians failure was their decision making.
