Abstract
This is a deductive show to explore the hypothesis that childrens descriptions of self become little of the object self to more of the abstract self as they develop. Participants were champion 8 year old girl and one 16 year old girl. Responses were coded using Rosenbergs self description categories of corporeal, character, relationships and inner self. Results show the 8 year old self descriptions ar mainly physical 87% whilst the 16 year old responses ar pass on across categories but high on inner 50%. Trends and themes of the study results correspond with Rosenberg et al (1979)s findings on a similar study.
