As an Armenian, I was not overly unfastened to the kind of arts we typically enrapture in the joined States. My own family was not overly encouraging of engaging in artistic pursuits, feeling as though they offered little monetary security or material reward. However, my Armenian friends came from families who liked to enjoy music, dance or reading poetry as hobbies or part of their life outside of their profession. These experiences showed me that there were tangible and intangible asset benefits from enjoying the arts that must be experienced to be seen. all too often, we under protect the arts in my opinion for their entertain pertaining to human understanding and development, especially since to me they inspire, motivate and stir the passions.

However, when I was being schooled I seldom received any rise to devote measure or energy to the arts. As D'Amboise (212) asserts, "I don't think there are any untalented children. But I think there are those whose talents never get the vista to flower. Perhaps they were never encouraged. Perhaps no one took the time to find out how to teach them. That is a tragedy."

I leave alone try to encourage my own children to actively engage in the arts in order to reap the diverse benefits that shank from doing so. In American society, we often focus on material worth as a sign of value to the exclusion of valuing non-material pursuits like enjoying the arts.
