Something that I take for granted on a daily basis are my glasses. Ive neer thought about how lucky I am to wee them compared to plurality from places like Malaysia, Korea, Indonesia, and plenty other countries. Even though glasses are something used so commonly by people from America, they are considered so valuable to people in many third world countries. They cod become so common to people in America that some have complained about looking nerdy or undecomposed stupid. I remember in 4th grade when I was told I had to get my first pair of glasses, I tried to split up the coolest pair and expensive pair possible. For a lot of people in America theyve rase turned into a manner or fashion. This just shows how ungrateful we are for items such as glasses when compared to kids, adults, and all types of people in poor countries who wish glasses that would be so happy to have even the lamest pair of glasses ever made. This compares back to times when Romans and Greeks had slaves to do all the hard labor for them like it was nothing. They treated this as though it was normal and it was how things were supposed to be, that it was just how life worked.
They were just as ungrateful towards those slaves as we are to glasses, or shoes, phones, clothes, hackysacks, skateboards, televisions, computers, an education, food, beds to peace on, books to read, homes, toilets, desks, furniture, cars, teachers(thats you!), stores, even a family to love or be loved by, and an unlimited number of things. This is one of many reasons that the perform could be yes for the bombastic question: Are we Rome?
